Beppu Station Hotel

old facility, unhelpful staff (unable to understand English), small room with dirty corner.

Good location close to transport and restaurants Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and hotel is good value

It's maybe a five minute walk to Beppu train station and on the other side, you have easy access to the bus terminal with a lot of restaurants in between. Plus, it's always nice to have friendly staff.

This room in particular was way too small. I felt like I had to leave the room to change my mind it was so small.

It was just a few minutes' walk from Beppu (train) Station; and it took less than ten minutes to get to the main bus terminal. Also, the staff were quite friendly even though their English wasn't much better than my Japanese.

The room with just a single bed was far too small. For the price, I wasn't expecting a palace, but there was no closet to store my luggage and I had to twist and turn to use the toilet because it was so crammed. I'm not a big person, but I was constantly bumping my elbows and knees against something.

Its wonderful staff and the owners. The fact it’s very well kept yet hasn’t changed over the past 34 years (this was my third time at this hotel) just like Beppu itself. I’m sure I will return.

When I had to leave.

The Hotel may be old but clean and necessary upgrade was already done, we liked the nostalgia furniture and decorincluding the old style key, we really loved the spacious room and huge closet (biggest closet ever seen)!. Also the location was right beside of the station and so convenient, Spa was very nice, the view from the window to the Beppu Tower was beautiful. We stayed another hotel in Beppu (one of well-known hotel) but we definitely come back to this Hotel again. The overall experience was fabulous.

the key was only one key, thus when both going to the Spa needs some coordination.

Just next to the JR station (1 min walk). The outdoor hot spring at SeaWave is excellent! Staff is friendly and helpful. We eventually stay for 1 more night. We also thank the lady for helping us get extra pillows and her warm reminder to take the bus.

Staff were very nice and the hotel is right next to the station, so it's convenient.

Room's interior and vibe gives 1880 colonialism. It was also quite dusty.

No drawers or shelves to put clothes in, only room for clothes that can be hung

Location is the best, staff are helpful and friendly.

The location of the hotel is near train and bus station so it is very convenient to move in and out. There are many restaurants and convenient store near the hotel too.

Price is fair, but all in all very basic

The place is decorated in a vintage way, which looks creepy in the picture online but actually pretty welcoming and clean in real life. The onsen is so good that almost wash away all my tiredness. Room size is pretty good compared to a normal hotel in Japan.

Incredibly convenient location right near the station (but far enough that you don’t hear the trains). There’s a sento/public bath for guests and it uses onsen water so you feel super silky afterwards. :)The room is tiny but perfect for me as a solo traveller, and very cheap for a hotel. The staff were super lovely and check in was quick and easy. To make things a bit more eco-friendly they’ve moved the amenities (eg extra shower goods, toothbrushes etc) and drinks (tea coffee and the like) to the first floor and you’re welcome to use these as you need- it’s a much better system than them throwing out unused items or that feeling of drinking the world’s most stale cup of tea. It was smart.

The decor is quite… dated.

Location, easy access to Public transport.

Had to hand the physical key into reception when leaving the hotel each time. Only 1 key provided. Had to collect the breakfast voucher each day of our visit.

Onsen, breakfast and location

The hotel was well situated in the centre of Beppu. A bit old fashioned but clean and welcoming.

The bed's were quite hard but okay.

Room carpet has strong urine smell. Feedback to hotel staff and was told is the smell is normal.

Affordable and strategic location.

I have told that I will buy the breakfast for my daughter there is different prices between price in the email and the receptionist.
